Trump's plan to increase duties and tariffs on interstate trade primarily affects the US debt, which has been issued by the US for almost 20 years with virtually no collaterals. US debt was sold to countries that had trade relations with them for money that they received from the trade surplus. It would be good if Trump canceled this surplus for everyone. Then countries would stop buying Fed debt and the US would lose the ability to finance its expenses with unsecured debt obligations. While the US will be building its factories (it is unclear with what money), the debt stranglehold will lead to the collapse of the dollar system. Thanks to Trump from everyone who dreamed of its collapse. Keep it up!
